Cross-References Tab

Cross-References functionality provides users with the ability to link the selected to client to one or more related client records. When two clients are cross-referenced, the user can easily move from one client record to the other to work.

From the Cross-References tab on the workspace, users can create, edit, view and delete cross-references.

Access to this tab and the functions contained within are controlled by administrator-defined Security Profiles.

Any existing cross-references for the client are displayed in this tab and the total number of cross-references is displayed in brackets on the tab.

Creating a Cross-Reference

To create a new cross-reference, navigate to the Cross-References (X-Refs) tab. Click  on the Cross-References tab. The Cross-Reference Maintenance window is displayed.

In the Description field, enter an informative description of the cross-reference, such as Neighbor or Granddaughter.

In the Client No field, enter the client number of the cross-reference and click Search. The cross-referenced client's name and branch number are populated in the respective fields.

Click Save to create the cross-reference. Click Cancel to disregard creating the cross-reference.

Upon clicking Save, the cross-reference is added to both the current and the cross-referenced client's Cross-References tab of the workspace. For example, Bob was just added as a cross-reference on Mike's account. A record for Bob is added to Mike's Cross-References tab and a record for Mike is added to Bob's Cross-References tab.

Editing a Cross-Reference

To edit an existing cross-reference, highlight the desired cross-reference and click  within the Cross-References tab of the workspace. The Cross-Reference Maintenance window is displayed.

Change the Description of the cross-reference or change the Client No and click Search to re-link the client to a different cross-reference. When finished, click Save. Click Cancel to disregard any changes.

Viewing a Cross-Reference

To view the workspace of a cross-referenced client, click the blue Client No link of the desired client on the Cross-References tab of the workspace.

The cross-referenced client is opened in the same workspace.

To return to viewing the original client record in the workspace, navigate to the Cross-References tab and click the blue Client No link of the client. The original client is displayed in the workspace.

Delete a Cross Reference

To delete a cross-reference, highlight the desired cross-reference and click  within the Cross-References tab of the workspace. The cross-reference is deleted.
